Being mindful and slowing down is just as important to your health as the food you put into your body. Sounds a bit crazy, I know! But take it from someone who is super Type A, has had a lifelong plan since she was 5 and just can’t say no.
Doing it all in the past has landed me in some pretty crappy situations, literally. 💩 My GI tract goes all out of whack, my sleeping is super imbalanced and guess what, I end up making poor food choices and when you are stressed, your stress hormone cortisol increases. Guess what that means? You crave more high fat, high sugary foods. Ugh. The cycle just won’t quit.
But guess what? You can help it quit.
🐢 Slow Down and don’t over schedule yourself
🌹 Stop and smell the roses, stuff your face in a sunflower
🤣 Laugh with friends
✈️ Turn your phone off or at least on airplane mode
💧 Skip the caffeine, reach for the water
This is what I did this last weekend. I had PLENTY of things on my to do list. Yet three friends motivated me to turn off my busy mind and go outside and play! Can you tell I had a good time?
